The seed is a large scale kinetic sculpture, Jubail Mangrove Park, Abu Dhabi by Es Devlin. Es Devlin Studios worked closely with a group of predominantly female Emirati artists and researchers on this 15 metre high revolving sculpture which formed the canvas for the UAE 49th National Day performance.
A music collaboration with Mohamed Al Ahmed, Musicom and Polyphonia. The 45-minute soundtrack, which embodied the Emirate culture, connected traditional local instrumentation with a contemporary and cinematic sound recorded at Air Studios by The London Chamber Orchestra and London Voices Choir. The immersive experience featured a 36.1 loudspeaker arrangement using 300 loudspeakers.
It was an ambitious project created within the parameters of a pandemic by an enormous global team including detailed concept collaboration with thinkers and artists from the Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, SYP, The Founders Office, and an international team of creatives and producers.
